Your first step would be to isolate the x. For now, im going to use > to mean greater than or equal to so i dont have to spell it out everytime.
5(x+4) -2(x+6) > 5(x+1) - 1 -----distribute everything
5x + 4 -2x - 12 > 5x + 5 - 1 ---combine like terms
3x - 8 > 5x + 4 ----------------subtract 3x from each side
-8 > 2x + 4 --------------------subtract 4 from each side
-12 > 2x -----------------------divide each side by 2
-6 > x (-6 is greater than or equal to x)

If you have to graph it, it would be a number line with a closed dot on -6 and everything shaded to the right.
