Question 53702: I do not understand what they mean when it asks me which linear equation is an indentity or if it is not conditional can you please show me an example?
Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
An identity is true for all values of "x"
For example 5x+x=6x is an identity.
---------
A conditional is true for certain values of "x"
For example 5x+1=6x
This is true only when x=1.
