Question 516203: -1<4x-3<5=
Answer by gc2000(22)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
make 2 formulas:
-1 < 4x-3, and 4x-3 < 5
first
-1 < 4x-3
add 3 both sides
2 < 4x
divide both sides by 4
1/2 < x

second
4x-3 < 5
add 3 both sides
4x < 8
divide
x < 2

x is greater than 1/2 and less than 2, that is:
.5 < x < 2
