Question 471306: 9<7-y

Answer by algebrahouse.com(1659)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
9 < 7 - y
2 < -y {subtracted 7 from both sides}
-2 > y {divided both sides by -1 and changed the inequality sign}
y < -2 {flipped entire inequality, so that y is first}

*when you multiply or divide both sides of an inequality by a negative number,
you have to change the inequality sign*
