Question 471219: 1. Suppose you want to cover the backyard with decorative rock and plant some trees as the first phase of the project. You need 30 trees to cover the area. If each ton of rock costs $60 and each tree is $75, What is the minimum amount of rocks you can buy with a budget for rock and trees of at least $2,500? Write an inequality that illustrates the problem and solve. Express your answer as an inequality and explain how you arrived at your answer.

First multiply 75 by 30 which is 2250
Then subtract it by 2500 which turns out to be 250 since each rock is $60 divide 250 by 3 which turns out as 4.16. So you can buy 30 trees and 4 rocks
