Question 447926: A crayon 8cm in length and 1cm in diameter will be made from 5 cubiccm of colored wax.the crayon is to have?
the shape of a cylinder surmounted by a small conical tip. find the length of the cylinder and the height y of the cone.

Answer by Edwin McCravy(20056)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Something is wrong because 5 cubic centimeters of wax is not enough
to make a crayon 8 cm long with 1 centimeter diameter, for it would
take at least 6.3 cubic centimeters to make one without the conical
tip. The conical tip would require even more wax. Read the problem
again and post again, for surely the 5 cm was a typo.
