...
generate values for y by plugging various values of x
example x=0
(0,-3/4)
(1,-7/4)
(-1,1/4)
Plot the points on the graph.
Join the points with a dotted line and shade the area below the line
since y < than something. The dotted line indicates that points on the line are not included in the solution
