Question 370948: How do I solve (y2 + 10y + 21)/(y + 7) ?

To simplify, factor out the numerator: y2 + 10y + 21 = (y+3)(y+7). The common factor y + 7 will cancel with the y+7 at the denominator, so in least terms the expression is equal to y+3.
