She can either drive 2 mph slower than the speed limit (ie at 45-2=43 mph) or 2 mph faster than the speed limit (ie at 45+2=47 mph)


So if 's' is her speed limit, then she must travel greater than or equal to 43 mph, which means that s%3E=43. In addition, she must travel at most 47 mph which also means that s%3C=47


Combine the two inequalities to get 43%3C=s%3C=47


So the compound inequality is 43%3C=s%3C=47
