Hello,
Let's expand this out. 3(1+x)<2[3(x+2)-(x+1)] to look like:
3+3x<(6x+12)-(2x+2)
Are you with me so far? OK, Now rewrite this as:
3+3x<4x+10
Now subtract 3x and 10 from both sides to get:
x>-7
Make sense?
