Question 313075: 8 < x < 12
12 < y < 15
if x and y are integers that satisfy the conditions above , what is one possible value of xy ?

The only integers that astisfy

8 < x < 12

are 9, 10, and 11, because they are the only whole nubers, such
that 8 is less than all of them, and they are all less than 12.

The only integers that satisfy

12 < y < 15

are 13 and 14, because they are the only whole nubers, such
that 12 is less than all of them, and they are all less than 15.

If x is 9 and y is 13, then xy = 117
If x is 9 and y is 14, then xy = 126
If x is 10 and y is 13, then xy = 130
If x is 10 and y is 14, then xy = 140
If x is 11 and y is 13, then xy = 143
If x is 11 and y is 14, then xy = 154

You can pick any of those 6 numbers for one possible value of xy.
