-6 < 6x < 12
divide by 6
-1 < x < 2
check in original inequality
-1 shouldn't work, and it doesn't
-11 < 6(-1)-5< 7
-11 is not > -11
2 should not work
-11 < 6(2)-5< 7
7 is not < 7
try x = 3/2 it should work
-11 < 6(3/2)-5< 7
-11 < 9 - 5 < 7
-11 < 4 < 7
it works
-1/2 should work
-11 < 6(-1/2)-5< 7
-11 < -3 < 7
it works
