we have the following table:

sequence . . . . -2 . . 1 . . .4 . . .7 . . .10
Notice as we go up 1 on the x, we go up 3 on the y. This will give us slope = 3/1.
Now, we have
Y = 3x + b. we pick a coordinate, let's say 2,1.
1 = 3(2) + b - -> b = -5.
So, we get
Y = 3X - 5.
