Your problem is:
what is the answer to this problem.
2x-10+3x/4 <-5
In the long run you hope to get something that looks like the following:
x < value
Let’s start by moving all the numerical values to the right side
Remember, you have to do the same operation on each side
Add 10 to both sides:
2x – 10 + 10 +3x/4 < - 5 +10
2x + 3x/4 < 5
Add the two x terms on the left side:
(4/4)2x + 3x/4 < 5
8x/4 + 3x/4 < 5
11x/4 < 5
Divide both sides by 11/4 to isolate the variable x on one side
(4/11)11x/4 < (4/11)5
x < 20/11
Good Luck!
