You mention inequalities but I don't see any > or < signs.

If you mean:
(3x+4)-4=4 Then:
3x=4+4-4
3x=4
x=4/3 ans.

If you mean:
|3x+4|-4=4
Then:
3x+4-4=4
3x=4+4-4
3x=4
x=4/3 ans.
-|3x+4|-4=4
-3x-4-4=4
-3x=4+4+4
-3x=12
x=12/-3
x=-4 ans.
