8 - 2(x - 3) < 4(x - 10) + 8

8 - 2x + 6 < 4x - 40 + 8 ----- Distribute to get rid of the parentheses

- 2x + 14 < 4x - 32

- 2x - 4x < - 32 - 14

- 6x < - 46

x > , or x > , or, x > . You should have realized that the < changes to > because of the divsion by a negative number

------------
Let's check
------------
Since x > 7.667, let's make x = 8

We then have:

8 - 2(x - 3) < 4(x - 10) + 8

8 - 2(8 - 3) < 4(8 - 10) + 8

8 - 2(5) < 4(- 2) + 8

8 - 10 < - 8 + 8

- 2 < 0 (TRUE)
