Simply plug in the given values one by one to determine if the inequality is true. I'll do the first number:


x-2%3E=8 Start with the given inequality.


-9-2%3E=8 Plug in x=-9


-11%3E=8 Combine like terms.


Now ask yourself: is the above inequality true? The answer is no. -11 is NOT greater than or equal to 8. So this means that x=-9 is NOT a solution.
