then the problem reads that 2x+3 is greater than or equal to -15
:
2x>-18.....subtracted 3 from both sides
:
x>-9.......divided both sides by 2
:
since this is greater than or equal to means that the boundry line is solid because it is included
:
the boundry line is a solid line at x=-9......the shade portion will be that portion which makes our inequality true...do a test point on each side.
:
(-10,0) is on the left side and (0,0) is on the right
:
-10>-9........is not false
0>-9 .........is true
:
therefore our boundry line is x=-9 which is a line 9 units to the left and parallel to the y axis. the shade portion is everything to the right of this line
