the thing to remember is that as long as there are no negative numbers being divided (dividing by a negative number causes the sign to flip), you can treat an inequality sign the same way you would an equal sign to get to the solution. So, you want to get all the constants to one side and the variable to the other...
first, distribute to get rid of the parenthesis:

then gather like terms:

now just re-arrange things:
subtracting x from each side gives you
but most instructors like the variable to be to the left, so we write
