Question 180695: how do you sketch the graph of the inequality. y+x<-6?
Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
how do you sketch the graph of the inequality. y+x<-6?
--------------
You do not directly graph an inequality; you graph the boundary
of the inequality which is the equality, y+x=-6
Boundary: y = -x - 6

-----------------------
You graph THIS boundary as a dashed line.
Then you shade the half-plane BELOW the boundary
because your problem calls for y < -x-6
-----------------
Your graph is the shaded half-plane.
