reresents the number of sale priced CD's
= The dollar amount Jerry paid for sale priced CD's
represents the number of regular priced CD's
= The dollar amount Jerry paid for regular priced CD's
He can't pay more than the $125 gift card, so
If I write this as an equality, then the equation represents
spending the gift card with no money left over, so
I'll plot this
Jerry can purchase any combination of x's and y's that
are beneath this line or on the line
(6,3)
(8,1)
(1,7)
are all OK

A)
:
:
B)if you buy 2 on sale cd's: 12(2)=24
:
--->--->y<=6.733....therefore you could buy 6 regular priced cd's and will end up with $11 change(12(2)+15(6)=114)
:
if you buy 4 on sale cd's: 12(4)=48
:
--->-->...so you can buy 5 regular cd's under this scenario and end up with 2 dollars change(12(4)+15(5)=123)
:
if you buy 8 on sale cd's: 12(10)120
:
--->--->....so you cannot buy any regular cd's under this scenaro and you will end up with $5 change(12(10)+15(0)=120)
