Answer by checkley77(12844) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2x^2-3x-1=0
Using the quadratic equation: we get:
x=(3+-sqrt[-362-4*2*-1])/2*2
x=(3+-sqrt[9+8])/4
x=(3+-sqrt17)/4
x=(3+-4.1231)/4
x=(3+4.1231)/4
x=7.1231/4
x=1.78 ans.
x=(3-4.1231)/4
x=-1.1231/4
x=.28 ans.
