Question 143176: I'm having problems with this question: The velocity of an object fired directly upward is given by V = 35 - 9.8t, where t is time in seconds. What inequality describes the velocity when t is between .5 and 1.5 seconds? My response was 14.7 > 35 - 9.8t . 4.9 and this was wrong. Could you show me the correct answer and how you got it?
Answer by oscargut(2103) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
0.5
then
-9.8(0.5)>-9.8t>1.5(-9.8)
-4.9>-9.8t>-14.7
-14.7<-9.8t<-4.9
20.3 < -9.8t+35 < 30.1 or 20.3 < v < 30.1
