Question 138339: This is not from a textbook. Which describes the following system of equations?
y=x+6
2y=-4x+3
Consistent, dependent, independent, inconsistent or a combination?
Thanks!

Answer by oscargut(2103)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
y=x+6
2y=-4x+3
then
-2y=-2x-12
2y=-4x+3
-6x-9=0
x=-9/6=-3/2
y=-3/2+6=9/2
so the system has a unique solution then
the system is independent
