Question 129382: solve inequality for z
8z + 7 < 1/2z + 2

Answer by jay1006(1)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
8z + 7 < 1/2z + 2
= (-7) + 8z + 7 < 1/2z + 2 + (-7)
= 8z < 1/2z + (-5)
= (-1/2z) + 8z < 1/2z + (-5) + (-1/2z)
= -1/2z + 16/2z < -5
= 15/2z < -5
= (2) 15/2z < -5 (2)
= 15z < -10
= (1/15) 15z < -10 (1/15)
= z < -10/15
= z < -2/3
