Question 1194846: What is the inequality? What is the maximum length of one side of the lawn you can mow if you can mow 36000 square feet of grass per gallon of gas and the mower has 3.6 gallons in it
Answer by math_tutor2020(3816)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!

36000 square feet of grass = 1 gallon of gas
3.6*36000 square feet of grass = 3.6*1 gallons of gas
129,600 square feet of grass = 3.6 gallons of gas

I multiplied both sides by 3.6 in the second step.

If we assume the lawn is a square, then the side length is feet. Meaning that the max length of the square lawn is 360 feet.

If the lawn is some other shape, then we simply don't have enough information to answer the question.
