Question 1175469: Compound Inequality
the length of a rectangle is 9 times its width. If the perimeter of the rectangle is not to exceed 240 feet, what are the possible values for x?

Answer by ikleyn(52781)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
.

    x + 9x <= 240/2

      10x  <= 120

        x   <= 120/10 = 12.

The dimensions of the rectangle are (x,9x) with x <= 12 feet.

Solved.

In your post, you did not specify variable x.

In my solution, x is the width of the rectangle (the shorter side).
