On the return trip, the ship traveled by the same route at an average speed of 11 miles per hour. How many miles did the cruise ship travel from its port to the island?

Instead, I will write the equation relevant to this problem, and then will solve it.


 +  = 26   hours.

============>  multiply all the terms by 165 = 15*11. You will get


11D + 15D = 26*165  


26D = 26*155   ====>  D = 155.


Answer.  The distance under the question is  155 miles.
