Question 1088228: In a chemistry class, 12 liters of a 15% alcohol solution must be mixed with a 20% solution to get a 16% solution. How many liters of the 20% solution are needed?
Answer by jorel1380(3719) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let n be the amount of 20% solution needed. Then:
12(.15)+n(.2)=(12+n).16
1.8+.2n=1.92n+.16n
.04n=.12
n=3
