Question 1009071: Solve the inequality: x + 14 < -11
Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x + 14 < -11

x + 14-14 < -11-14 ... subtract 14 from both sides

x + 0 < -25

x < -25

The solution is x < -25

If you need to graph x < -25 on a number line, you follow these steps

step 1) draw out a number line. I would go by 5s so that you can fit -25, 0 and 25 on it

step 2) plot an open circle at -25 on the number line

step 3) Shade to the left of the open circle

Note: the open circle is used to exclude -25 from the solution set. We shade left because of the "<" sign. The shaded region is the solution set. It's the set of values that makes each inequality shown above true.
