Hi there,
Make shirt = x
sweatshirt = y
15x + 10y = 300....(1)
3x + 5y = 105......(2)
Multiply Equation (2) by 2
15x + 10y = 300....(1)
6x + 10y = 210.....(2)
Subtract (2) from (1)
9x = 90
x = 10
Substitute x = 10 into Equation (2)
3x + 5y = 105
3(10) + 5y = 105
30 + 5y = 105
5y = 105 - 30
5y = 75
y = 15.
Shirt costs 10
Sweatshirt costs 15
