Question 851787: I really need someone's help please? The course that I am taking is on the topic of logarithms and I don't quite understand how to do this word problem. The problem is:
TEMPERATURE CONVERSION. The function C (F)=5/9 (F-32) converts a temperature in degrees. Fahrenheit, F, to a temperature in degrees Celsius, C. The function
K(C) =C+273, changes the temperature in degrees Celsius to a temperature in Kelvins, K.
(1) Find a function that converts a temperature in degrees Fahrenheit to a temperature in Kelvins.
(2) Determine 80 degrees Fahrenheit in Kelvins.

Answer by josgarithmetic(39617) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
What you describe is not related to use of logarithms.
0 degrees C is about 273 K.
You have two functions.
C(F)=(5/9)(F-32) and K(C)=C+273.
What you can say about K is that K is a composition function as K(C(F)). You are then looking for a formula for that composition.
This will be very near
-
Formula for K as a function of F is then
