IT IS:
FIVE SISTERS' AGES ADD UP TP 211. THE OLDEST SISTER'S AGE WAS 3 TIMES THAT OF THE YOUNGEST. THE NEXT TO THE OLDEST WAS 2 YEARS YOUNGER THAN THE OLDEST AND THE MIDDLE SISTER WAS TWICE AS OLD AS TH YOUNGEST. THE REMAINING SISTER WAS 3 YEARS OLDER THAN THE YOUNGEST SISTER. WHAT IS THE AGE OF THE OLDEST SISTER?

Let x= age of youngest
Then 3x=age of oldest
And 3x-2=age of next to oldest
And 2x=age of middle sis
And x+3=age of remaining sis
And all this adds up to 211. So our equation to solve is:
x+3x+3x-2+2x+x+3=211 collect like terms
10x+1=211 subtract 1 from both sides
10x+1-1=211-1
10x=210
x=21 ---------------youngest
3x=3*21=63-------------oldest
3x-2=63-2=61------------------next oldest
2x=2*21=42---------------------middle
x+3=21+3=24--------------------remaining

21+63+61+42+24=211
211=211
