Answer by rm29924(97)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
let x = the smaller number
the larger number is 5x-2
their sum is 94 so you add them
5x-2+x=94
6x-2=94
add 2 to both sides
6x=96
divide both sides by 6
x=16
the larger number is 5x-2
5(16)-2
80-2= 78
answer: the larger number is 78
78+16=94
