I am having problems with word problems. Here is one word problem I have tried but just don't understand.
The problem is: The sum of two numbers subtracted from twice the sum of those numbers.
All I am suppossed to do is write it into an algebraic expression.
The answer I said was x+x-2x.
Thanks.
P.S. The only letters for the unknown number I am supposed to use os x and/or y.

The sum of two numbers subtracted from twice the sum of those numbers.
2(x+y) - (x+y)
2x + 2y - x - y
2x - x + 2y - y
x + y
