Question 54706: April and Amy are twin sisters. They have a total of 120 CDs. If Amy has twice as many CDs as April, how many CDs do each of them have?
Answer by Nate(3500) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
April's # of CDs = p
Amy's # of CDs = m
p + m = 120
we get: m = 120 - p
plug into:
m = 2p
120 - p = 2p
120 = 3p
40 = p
Plug:
m = 2p
m = 80
April has 40 CDs, but Amy has 80 CDs.
