They then turn around and travel downstream, this time with the current, taking 3.5 housr(they travelled the same distance as they did with against the current). Determine the speed of the current and the speed of the canoe.
this doesn't make sence to me because they can't go faster against the current.... at least i don't think they can... this is homework.... please help me!!!!

Upstream DATA:
distance= 21 km ; time = (3/2) hr. ; rate= d/t= 21/(3/2) = 14 km/hr.

Downstream DATA:
distance = 21 km ; time= 3.5 hr.

You are right. The time downstream should be less than the
time upstream. This is inconsistent.
