Let x be the amount of the October bill, then (x-$2.32) would be September's bill

total bill for the two months was $119.56

x + (x-$2.32)= $119.56

Simplify and Solve

2x - $2.32 = $119.56

2x  = $121.88

x = $60.94  October's bill

(x-$2.32) = $58.62 September's Bill
