Let the slower machine prints x pages per minute.
The faster machine then prints 2x pages per minute.
The slower machine prints 8x pages in 8 minutes;
The faster machine prints 16x pages in 8 minutes.
Total pages = 8x+16x = 24x;
The slower machine, working alone, prints 24x pages in 24 minutes;
The faster machine, working alone, prints 24x pages in 12 minutes;
