When it has a 1 after it, its 3 times as large as when it has a 1 before it. What is the number?
Answer by Stitch(470) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A 1 in front of the number is the same as adding 100,000 to the number.
A 1 behind the number is the same as multiplying the number by 10 and then adding 1.
So the equation is:
Simplify the equation
Subtract 1 from both sides
Subtract 3X from both sides
Divide both sides by 7
