Question 304630: direct deposit. the percentage of workers receiving direct deposit of their paychecks went from 32% in 1994 to 60% in 2004. let 1994 be year 0 and 2004 be your 10 year. a) Write the equation of the line through(0,32) and (10,60) to model the growth of direct deposit. b)Use the equation from (a) to predict the year in which 100% of all workers will receive direct deposit.
Answer by checkley77(12844) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(0,32) and (10,60)
Slope=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)
Slope=(60-32)/(10-0)
Slope=28/10=2.8 ans.
32=2.8*0+b
b=32 for the y intercept.
y=2.8x+32 is the line equation.
100=2.5x+32
2.5x=100-32
2.5x=68
x=68/2.5
x=27.2
The year 27.2 100% will be receiveing direct deposit.
(graph 300x300 pixels, x from -6 to 30, y from -10 to 120, 2.8x +32).
