let the width of the photo be x
length will be x+3
the border is 2" on all sides
increase in length and width incheswil l be by 4
including border the
width will be x+4
and length will be x+3 +4 = x+7
(x+4)(x+7 ) =108
x^2+7x+4x+28 =108
x^2+11x+28-108=0
x^2+11x-80 =0
x^2+16x-5x-80=0
x(x+16)-5(x+16)=0
(x-5)(x+16)=0
x=5 OR x=-16
x=5 inches is the width of the photo
the length will be 8 inches
