One number would be x and the second number would be 4x+2. The equation would be x+(4x+2)=33. Now you combine like terms so you get 5x+2=33. Now you subtract both sides by 2 so you get 5x=31.Now you divide each side by 5 so you get x=31/5.The first number would be 31/5 an the second one would be 134/5.
