Question 169579: The perimeter of a rectangle is 148 feet. The length is 14 feet greater than 1.5 times the width. What is the length?
Answer is 50 feet. How was that found?
Answer by checkley77(12844) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2L+2W=P
L=1.5W+14
2(1.5W+14)+2W=148
3W+28+2W=148
5W=148-28
5W=120
W=120/5
W=24 IS THE WIDTH.
L=1.5*24+14
L=36+14
L=50 IS THE LENGTH.
PROOF:
2*50+2*24=148
100+48=148
148=148
