Question 158657: Suppose we buy four similar jackets and three similar shirts. If each jacket costs $35 more than one of the shirts, and we spend a total of $455, what is the price of each jacket and each shirt?
Answer by neha_chinu2k(2) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
let shirts cost x $
so jackets cost 35+x
cost of 3 shirts 3x
cost of 4 jsckets 4(35+x)
total they cost =455
so ,
3x+4(x+35)=455
x=45 ie one shirt cost 45$ so jacket costs- 45+35=80$
