Question 132076: Hi! Could you please answer my question:

The sum of the lengths of the two legs of a right angle triangle is 14cm. Find the length of the shortest hypotenuse.

I started off by trying the equations [ a+b=14 and a^2+b^2=c^2 ]
then I substituted into [ c^2=(14-b)(14-b)+b^2 ] and solved, but I don't think I did it right... I got b=7, and therefore a=7... could you double check and show me the steps to get the answer?!?
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
