Question 108778: C-12 Construction: How many cubic yards of concrete are needed to pour eight cylindrical pillars 12 ft 6 in high, each with a diameter of l ft 9 in.?
Answer by checkley71(8403)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
VOLUME=12.5*PI*D
SEEING AS YOU HAVE 8 COLUMNS MULTIPLY THIS BY 8 THUS:
8(12.5)(3.14*1.75)=549.5 CUBIC FEET.
1 CUBIC YARD = 27 CUBIC FEET.
THUS WE HAVE:
549.5/27=20.35 CUBIC YARDS OF CEMENT IS NEEDED.
