You want to hire a live band for a school dance. You have $175 in your budget. The live band charges $75 per hour and each student pays $2 admission. If the band is to play for 3 hours, how much extra money do you need to raise?
------
Cost = 3*75 = $225
Revenue = 175 + 2x, where x is the numbers of tickets sold for $2.
------
Profit = R - C
175+2x - 225 = 0
----
2x = 225-175
2x = 50
x = 25
----
Ans:: Money needed to break even:: 2*25 = $50.00
