Question 104625: A concrete mix is in volume proportions of 1 part cement, 2 parts water, 2 parts aggregate, and 3 parts sand. How many cubic feet of each ingredient are needed to make 54 cu ft of concrete?
Answer by HyperBrain(694) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let x= cement part
2x= water part
3x=aggregate part
NOTE: they have a ratio of 1:2:3
Their sum should be 54, so,
x+2x+3x=54
6x=54
x=9,
2x=18,
34x=27.
Therefore, it MUST contain 9 cu. ft. of concrete, 18 cu. ft of water, and 27 cu. ft of aggregate!
