Let x= one integer
Then x+2= the other
Now we are told that x+x+2=118 subtract 2 from both sides
x+x+2-2=118-2 collect like terms
2x=116 divide both sides by 2
x=58------------------------one integer
x+2=58+2=60------------------------the other
